Achievement through Happy Learning

Year 3 Autumn 2

Class: Year 3 Year: 2021 - 2022

It’s nearly Christmas!

We have had a busy but exciting half term full of lots of learning and even an exciting school trip to Chester.

In English, we have explored playscripts and even wrote our own, complete with lines to say, performer’s names and stage directions for how to perform the line. We wrote our own exciting playscripts linked to our History learning of Boudicca’s Rebellion. We recognised the work and effort that goes into all of the programmes, films and theatre performances that we watch.

In our history lessons, we delved into our learning about the rotten Romans. We loved getting the opportunity to visit the Grosvenor Museum in Chester. On the day we saw some real Roman artefacts, visited the amphitheatre, learnt about Roman battle formations and had fun marching around the streets of Chester with a real Roman soldier.

We have worked really hard to improve our fitness in our PE lessons this term. Outdoors, we learnt and practised football skills; some of us really impressed with our already amazing football skills - we definitely could have some future football stars! For indoor PE, we completed fitness circuits. Each lesson we completed the same circuit and worked in partners to record how many reps we could do in one minute. We really enjoyed seeing our progress in our number of reps each week and challenging ourselves to do better.

In DT, we made our own Roman Chariots. We had fun designing and making our chariots in a Roman theme complete with wheels and axels to allow our chariot to move.

We ended the half term with some long awaited Christmas celebrations. The final two weeks were filled with lots of fun and Christmas cheer with our winter wanderland, carol concert, santa dash and Christmas party.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your families. We will see you in 2022.
