Achievement through Happy Learning

Art & Design

In Year 3, the art curriculum focuses on building foundational techniques while encouraging more personal and imaginative responses. Children learn to experiment with various media, observe proportions, and study famous artists.

Autumn

Banksy is a famous and mysterious artist. Noone actually knows who he is but his graffiti artworks cause great excitement. His work always has a message. Ask an adult to find you an image of Game Changer; what do you think Banksy is trying to say?

Spring

This term Year 3 develop pencil skills, learning different techniques so that you can shade effectively to make objects look three-dimensional.

Summer

Georgia OKeefe will be Year 3's  inspiration this term. Her amazing painting of flowers are bold and detailed. Try to look closely at flowers, perhaps with a magnifying glass, and marvel at the detail and colour of each unique bloom.

Our Intent and Impact (I&I) sheets below list the questions we want children to be able to answer once they have completed their learning. They also highlight key vocabulary which children must learn.
