Achievement through Happy Learning

Geography

Year 6 geography bridges foundational map skills and environmental sciences with more complex, real-world concepts like human geography, global economics, and sustainability.

Autumn

By the end of this term Year 6 will know more about the features on a globe. They will also know how Native Americans used the natural resources around them to survive and thrive. Year 6 will also begin to learn more about natural disasters and their impact on human life.

Summer

By the end of this term, Year 6 will know how the economy of a country can impact on physical and human geography. You will be able to make comparisons between different countries and cities. To prepare for your learning, or expand your knowledge further, visit BBC Bitesize and follow the link for KS2 Geography.

Our Intent and Impact (I&I) sheets below list the questions we want children to be able to answer once they have completed their learning. They also highlight key vocabulary which children must learn.
