Achievement through Happy Learning

Year 2 Autumn 2

Class: Year 2 Year: 2021 - 2022

This half term we have enjoyed learning about significant people from the past in history. We looked at artefacts to find out about Mary Seacole who was a famous nurse during the Crimean war and produced a poster sharing the key facts about her life. Ask us to tell you what we know about other famous people such as Neil Armstrong and Guy Fawkes. We can tell you how their actions have impacted on our lives today.

In R.E. we have learnt about festivals of light and compared how people celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas. We loved making Christingles to show how christians believe that Jesus is the light of the world and looking at jewish artefacts and playing the dreidel game.

Great fun was had using directional language to control the probotics cars, writing and debugging our own algorithms when following a route.

Our term concluded with lots of excitement as we rehearsed and performed our own version of 'The Night before Christmas'. We were so proud of our children as it has been a long time since they have performed to a large audience. Their enjoyment was a pleasure to see.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you and your family a very happy Christmas.
