Art & Design

Year 6 art continues the focus on mastering advanced techniques in drawing and painting. Students develop their sketchbooks to refine observational skills, learn color theory, and study influential artists and designers.

Autumn

Rousseau never visited a jungle yet his artwork evokes a sense of place with its attention to detail. You can experience a jungle environement at Chester Zoo which would be a great inspiration for this art project, If you get chance to visit, take paper, pencils and a camera to try to get some images of jungle animals and plants for your sketch book.

 

Spring

Optical illusions are fascinating. The Victorians in particular were fascinated with creating deisgns which tricked the eye. Year will use their skills with pencil and pen to create their own optical illusions.


Summer

Pop Art is instantly recognisable. It is colourful; it is fun; and it all about popular culture. Year 6 will re-presenting images of superheroes in the Pop Art style. Pop Art exhibitions often visit Tate Liverpool.
