PE
Year 2 Physical Education focuses on mastering fundamental movement skills, building basic fitness, and learning simple game tactics. Children learn to run, jump, throw, and catch with increased control. They also explore balance, agility, and coordination through gymnastics, dance, and basic competitive games.
At Hatton Hill, children are given every opportunity to develop fitness and stamina. We have vast play areas, which include a running track and multi-use games area (MUGA). The school also works with other providers, such as Everton in the Community, to ensure children have access to quality sporting opportunities beyond designated learning time, such as lunchtime and after school clubs. Our annual Sports Day is a highlight of the school year - children complete competively within their house team against other houses, with the cup then decorated in the winning team's colours for the year. During our Sports Day we look forward to the return of former pupils, who are now studying PE at GCSE, to support the event.
Our Intent and Impact (I&I) sheets below list the questions we want children to be able to answer once they have completed their learning. They also highlight key vocabulary which children must learn.
