PSHE & RSE
This page is being updated. Please bear with us.
Year 3 PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic education) focuses on essiential themes of health and wellbeing, relationships, and living in the wider world. Children learn to build positive friendships, understand healthy habits, and develop essential personal safety and emotional management skills. Class and group discussion, debate and practical activities are the used to help us grow into sensitive and responsible citizens.
We use a range of resources, such as, those provided by the PSHE Association Programme of Study and PolEd (which helps address local issues). Mrs James also shares a weekly assembly which helps children think about and explore different issues. In addition, we have many visitors to school who support children's developing understanding of how to keep themselves safe and become responsible citizens. This includes, the MHST team, emergency services, the Canal Trust, and RNLI. It takes a village to raise a child!
Our Intent and Impact (I&I) sheets below list the questions we want children to be able to answer once they have completed their learning. They also highlight key vocabulary which children must learn.
