Catch 22

Class: Year 5 Year: 2022 - 2023

This week Year 5 and 6 pupils, as well as parents and teachers, accessed a child exploitation awareness course which will help us keep our children safe online. It is a terrible thought that our children could be at risk in this way, but the reality is that all children are. For this generation of children, the line between the online and offline world is increasingly blurred so adults must be proactive – we must ensure that children are aware of dangers, know how to spot the signs that they may be unsafe, and know what to do. At Hatton Hill, our children receive at least half-termly lessons on a variety of topics relating to online safety and the charity delivering the training (Catch-22) commented that our children already have a good knowledge of how to stay safe online. All the children worked really hard and impressed us with their mature engagement with a tricky topic.
