Christmas Grotto & Fayre
Lesson: Personal, Social and Emotional Education
The theme for our annual grotto this year was Elf on the Shelf, and what fun it was! The riot of colour, with entertaining elf displays, was very much enjoyed. Our school grotto and fayre, has become another highlight in the school calendar and our most important community event. Children politely and enthusiastically expressed their wishes to Father Christmas and the hall was a hive of activity as children played traditional games, the likes of which are rarely seen these days. Even the creation of the grotto is a community event with teachers and support staff working tirelessly to ensure the event is a success. Can I, therefore, take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to my staff some of whom were busy well beyond their working hours – creating, shopping, transporting, baking and much more. Thank you also to Father Christmas who was in his usual jolly mood – he loves visiting Hatton Hill. Also, thank you to parents for your enthusiastic and generous support of our school events!
