Maya Masks

Class: Year 6 Year: 2026 - 2027

J8 have been completing some Maya inspired art using mixed media. Firstly, each child designed their own mask inspired by images and traditional elements of Mayan art. After that, the design was transferred to the fabric and outlined with a Sharpie. Oil pastels were then used to achieve block colours and blended. Finally, the fabric was sprayed with ink to create a powerful background. We think you'll agree that the results are striking - like much of the Maya art we studied.
