Pumpkin Power

Lesson: Art and design

Pumpkin Power: The turn out to view the display of children’s pumpkin designs was spectacular. Thank you to the many families who queued patiently for entry. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the hall and, in the words of a parent, it was a great to bring the community together through children’s art – I couldn’t agree more. We also raised £131.00 for our local children’s hospital, Alder Hey.  Last year, the teachers found the process of judging the competition quite stressful because we felt everyone deserved to win! As such, I invited governors to judge and increased the prizes to one per class. We are delighted to announce the winners as follows: Nursery: Ruby; Reception: Benjamin; Year 1: Caleb and Colby; Year 2: Maple and Reggie; Year 3: Adriana; Year 4: Olivia, Terence and Cerys; Year 5: Thomas, Jolan, Matthew and Evelyn and Year 6: Ava P and Harrison. Every child who entered was given tasty treat and a Halloween-themed party horn. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.
