World Cup Balloon Celebration
Lesson: Design and technology
As we embrace the World Cup, with flags from countries of the world flying next to each other in companionship and celebration of a shared interest, we read the opening pages of the famous book: The Great Round-the-World Balloon Race.
This fantastic book is a celebration of the great variety of landscapes and cultures around the world from a bird's eye view. It is also a book about a competition, but with a very different kind of sphere! We will be studying the book in full during our Book Week later this term.
Inspired by the book, children were invited to design their own hot air balloon decorated to celebrate one country in the World Cup. In typical Hatton Hill style, the results were simply amazing!
Please enjoy looking at the photos of our amazing creations.
